Salzer Electronics Limited (“we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of our users (“user” or “you”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Salzer NexCharge and its related services. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.
We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the Application after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
COLLECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may collect information about you in the following ways:
Personal Data
Personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, mobile number, and country code that you voluntarily provide when registering for the Application or updating your profile.
Vehicle & Charging Data
Information related to your electric vehicle including make, model, year, registration number, and vehicle identifiers (RFID tag, VUID, or MAC address) that you link to your account. Charging session data including session start/stop times, energy consumed (kWh), duration, station location, and associated charges.
Financial Data
Wallet balance, top-up transaction references, and charging session billing records. Payment card or UPI details are not stored by us — all payment processing is handled securely by Razorpay in accordance with their privacy policy.
Derivative Data
Information our servers automatically collect when you access the Application, including device type, operating system version, app version, and interaction logs for debugging and service improvement purposes.
Geo-Location Information
We may request access to location-based information from your mobile device to help you locate nearby charging stations. Location access is used only while the Application is in use and is not tracked in the background. You may disable location access in your device settings, though this will affect the station-finder feature.
Mobile Device Access
We may request access to certain features of your mobile device including Bluetooth (for BLE-enabled charging sessions), camera (for QR code scanning at stations), and notifications. You may manage these permissions at any time in your device settings.
Push Notifications
We send push notifications for charging session updates (start, stop, alerts), wallet balance changes, and important account notifications. You may opt out of non-essential notifications in your device settings or within the Application.
USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information collected to:
- Create and manage your Salzer NexCharge account.
- Provide access to EV charging stations and process charging sessions.
- Manage your wallet, process top-ups, and handle billing.
- Send OTPs for account authentication, RFID card activation, and security verification.
- Deliver session start/stop notifications, low balance alerts, and service updates via push notification, SMS, and email.
- Generate invoices and maintain billing records.
- Activate and manage RFID cards and VUIDs linked to your account.
- Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Application and charging network.
- Resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, and respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our platform.
DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
We may share information we have collected in certain situations:
By Law or to Protect Rights
If required by law or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by applicable law, rule, or regulation.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with trusted third parties that perform services on our behalf:
- Razorpay — payment processing and wallet top-ups.
- Airtel Business — SMS OTP delivery.
- Firebase (Google) — push notification delivery.
- Charging Point Operators (CPOs) — station operators receive session data necessary for billing and network management.
Business Transfers
If we reorganize, merge, or are acquired by another entity, your information may be transferred to the successor entity. You will be notified of any such change.
Affiliates
We may share your information with affiliates of Salzer Electronics Limited, who are required to honour this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Our web portal uses essential cookies for session management and authentication only. We do not use advertising cookies, web beacons, or third-party tracking pixels on the Application. The mobile application does not use cookies.
We may use analytics to understand how users interact with the Application in aggregate, in order to improve performance and user experience. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Application integrates with third-party services including Razorpay (payments) and Firebase (notifications). Your use of these services is subject to their respective privacy policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of these third parties beyond what is necessary for our service.
SECURITY OF YOUR INFORMATION
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.
- OTPs are hashed, single-use, and expire after 5 minutes.
- Access to production systems is restricted, authenticated, and monitored.
- Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay and is PCI-DSS compliant.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
POLICY FOR CHILDREN
We do not knowingly collect information from or market to children under the age of 18. The Application is intended for use by adults only. If you are aware of any data we have collected from a minor, please contact us immediately.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. Transaction and invoice records are retained for 7 years as required by applicable accounting and tax laws. You may request deletion of your account at any time; however, certain billing records may be retained for legal compliance.
OPTIONS REGARDING YOUR INFORMATION
Account Information
You may review and update your profile information at any time through the Application. To request account deletion, contact us at support@salzernexcharge.com.
Communications
You may opt out of non-essential communications by updating your notification preferences in the Application settings or by contacting us. Note that transactional communications (OTPs, session alerts, billing notifications) are essential to the service and cannot be disabled while your account is active.
Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate information through the app or by contacting us.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
GOVERNING LAW
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules thereunder. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Tamil Nadu, India.
